My name is Dániel Szabó, I am a researcher, computer scientist and photographer currently based in Finland, originally from Hungary.
Currently I am passionate about anything with an engine in it, Japanese language and photography. I am also actively working on my startup venture, TeXposit and my open-source project, MicroBin.

2026/6 → I completed a 3-month research visit at the IIS Lab of The University of Tokyo in Tokyo, Japan to collaborate with Chi-Lan Yang and Xinrui Fang.
2026/4 → Our article “Dániel Szabó, Chi-Lan Yang, Aku Visuri, Jonas Oppenlaender, Bharathi Sekar, Koji Yatani, and Simo Hosio.: Conversational Inoculation to Enhance Resistance to Misinformation.” has been accepted to CHI 2026 and given the Honourable Mention Award.
2026/3 → We organised the workshop “Dániel Szabó, Niels van Berkel, Benjamin Tag, Rune Møberg Jacobsen, Jorge Goncalves, Xinrui Fang, Zefan Sramek, Koji Yatani, Aku Visuri, and Simo Hosio: Beyond Cognitive Offloading: Conversational AI for Personal Growth.” at the Augmented Humans 2026 Conference.
2026/3 → Our article “Dániel Szabó, Aku Visuri, Benjamin Tag, and Simo Hosio. Robot-Wearable Conversation Hand-off for Navigation” has been accepted to the Augmented Humans 2026 Conference.
2025/8 → Our article “Dániel Szabó, Aku Visuri, Ville Paananen, Achira Handelage, Kavindu Ravishan, Emma Kirjavainen, Koji Yatani and Simo Hosio: Factors of Trust for Successfully Adopting Social Robots on the Campus” has been accepted to the Australian Conference on Human-Computer Interaction (OzCHI 2025)
2025/6 → I became a team member of the Japan-based ASPIRE-MWI project and visited the Ochanomizu University in Tokyo, Japan
2025/4 → I attended CHI’25 and began a 2-month research visit at the IIS Lab of The University of Tokyo in Tokyo, Japan to collaborate with Chi-Lan Yang
2025/4 → Our short article and poster “Dániel Szabó, Chi-Lan Yang, Aku Visuri, and Simo Hosio: MindFort: Cognitive Inoculation via Conversational Agents” has been accepted to the workshop Envisioning the Future of Interactive Health at CHI’25.
2024/10 → I presented at TOHAI 2024 and at the same time I began a 1-month research visit at the IIS Lab of The University of Tokyo in Tokyo, Japan
